It is now widely acknowledged that ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is the only significant force propelling every knowledge-based economy in the world today. ICT workers that are properly qualified and devoted must be present in a nation in order to apply ICT in many fields efficiently for career counseling in Pakistan.

We are now debating this crucial issue that faces in  Pakistan due to the lack of enthusiasm among students in the field of IT and the deterioration in output quality. This essay explores a number of elements, including curriculum, resource accessibility, appropriate advice, and online  career counseling in Pakistan—the fundamental concerns influencing the use of ICT in Pakistani schools.

TIPS ON BUSINESS COUNSELING IN PAKISTAN

Five different universities in Pakistan (two from the public sector and three from the highly regarded private sector) were used to collect data from the current students enrolled in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. It has been noted that the bulk of the students are from rural Pakistan and have studied Urdu as a second language. With insufficient exposure to ICT in school or college, most of their time was spent honing their fundamental skills rather than getting them ready for the hi-tech industry.

Additionally, it is noted that the majority of students lack knowledge of their goals for the particular programs they are enrolled in as well as their future professions in these disciplines due to the absence of a culture of career counseling in Pakistan at both the high school and college levels. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is beneficial to both China and Pakistan.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is portrayed as a significant “Prosperity Tool” that can aid Pakistan in resolving its financial issues. While CPEC has been studied in the past in a number of disciplines related to trade and business, its most significant connection to education has been difficult to uncover.

The purpose of this study was to determine how university instructors may help their students become more aware of the professional options offered by CPEC projects while also offering assistance and counselling. The population of the study consisted of all of the professors at Lahore’s public and private universities. 150 teachers were chosen at random from among several departments at two public and two private universities in the Lahore area.

The function of teachers was determined using an instrument that was self-developed and verified. The instrument’s reliability index was 82. The findings demonstrated that teachers were fulfilling their responsibility to inform students of the CPEC initiatives. Additionally, they were offering informal counseling to their higher education students about the employment opportunities present in the CPEC projects.

With regard to their gender, home location, kind of university, designation, and years of working experience, teachers’ roles in offering free career counseling in Pakistan to their students at the higher education level about CPEC projects was not significantly different. It was suggested that universities set up seminars, workshops, over, panel
discussions, and brainstorming sessions to help faculty members become more aware of CPEC and take appropriate action for their students’ career counseling. This qualitative study’s objectives are to recognize and comprehend the value, accessibility, and practical application of career counseling at Pakistan’s various educational levels.

FINAL RESULT

The study also emphasizes the significance of career counselling and its impact on professional decision-making. To gather information from 25 individuals with varying academic and professional backgrounds who attended various universities in Pakistan, in-depth interviews were performed. Thematic analysis was used to process the acquired data after the interviews were coded using the software (N-vivo, ed. 10). The results of the thematic analysis demonstrated the lack of a suitable structure for career counselling in Pakistan at all educational levels.
